One of these KPI indicators is the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). It is an indicator of how they work the machines, production lines and processes, in terms of availability, rate of production and quality. OEE is the best yardstick to know the actual performance and locate areas of possible improvement in the manufacturing environment. The factors Availability (A) Performance (P), and Quality (Q) provide a simple measure of the overall operation, and therefore the criterion for assessing the proper use of a resource, taking into account equipment, manpower and the ability to meet quality specifications.
